Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies

Every family has a few favorite cookie recipes that they enjoy making together. You know, when you just feel like baking something or one of your kids comes to you asking if they can make something with you? If you don’t have a peanut butter cookie recipe in your family cookbook, get ready to print this one out and save it! Once you make these soft, chewy Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies, you’ll want to make them again and again.

I highly recommend having a tall, cold glass of milk ready and waiting when these cookies come out of the oven. They are SO good warm! Later, you can pop them into the microwave for 10-15 seconds to recreate that fresh-out-of-the-oven experience again and again. Let’s bake some cookies!

Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies Ingredients

  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Brown Sugar
  • Salt
  • Creamy Peanut Butter
  • Egg
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Flour
  • Baking Soda
  • Grape Jelly or Jam

How to Make the Cookies

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Stir together with a whisk until well combined.
Next add the egg, peanut butter and vanilla extract. Whisk together again until completely combined.
Add the flour and baking soda. Use a wooden spoon or rubber spatula to fold the wet and dry ingredients together until a thick dough has formed.


Use a 2-inch scooper to scoop balls of the peanut butter dough and place on the baking sheet 1-2 inches apart.
Press a well into the center of each ball using the back of the scooper.
Fill the center of each unbaked cookie with a large teaspoonful of grape jelly or jam.

Bake for 13 minutes. The cookies will have spread out and the edges should be slightly browned. Do not over bake! Allow to sit and cool for 5 minutes.
Warm 1/3 cup peanut butter for 20 seconds in the microwave then place into a piping bag.
Create a swirl of melted peanut butter in the center of each cookie.
Serve while still warm and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks

  • Use crunchy peanut butter to add more texture to the cookies.
  • If you’re not great at piping, decorate the center of your cookies with some peanut butter chips instead.
  • Reheat leftover cookies in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to get that fresh-from-the-oven experience.
  • Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for 3-4 days. No need to refrigerate.
