How to make the Blueberry Grimace Milkshake
This simple recipe captures the essence of Grimace’s favorite things in a delightful purple milkshake. While it may not be a limited edition item like the one that took social media platforms by storm, it’s a fun and easy way to join in on the TikTok trend and indulge in the taste of summertime berry flavors. Here’s how to make your own Grimace shake:
- Let the vanilla ice cream sit out for 10-15 minutes to soften.
- In a blender, combine 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream, a splash of whole milk, a handful of frozen blueberries, and a dash of birthday cake flavoring.
- Blend until smooth and creamy. For that signature Grimace hue, consider adding a few drops of purple food coloring.
- Pour the shake into glasses and top with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
- Sprinkle rainbow sprinkles over the whipped cream for that extra festive touch.
- Raise a glass in honor of Grimace and enjoy your homemade Grimace Birthday Blueberry Shake!
The frozen blueberries make this Grimace Birthday Blueberry Milkshake perfect for a summer treat even if there isn’t a birthday to celebrate! I’d still recommend adding the sprinkles, though. You can never have too many sprinkles!

Variations to the McDonald’s Grimace Shake Recipe
- For a lighter version of this shake, opt for sugar-free ice cream, skim milk, and low-calorie whipped topping.
- To increase the berry flavor, add additional frozen fruit or fresh raspberries to the blender.
- Double the recipe to make a batch of 4 milkshakes at a time and share the Grimace shake love with friends and family.
- Try an alternate colorful topping such as Fruity Pebbles cereal.
- Make these milkshakes for Halloween using green and black sprinkles instead of rainbow ones.
- Make a vegan grimace shake by using coconut milk or almond milk.
So whether you’re celebrating Grimace’s birthday or simply craving a refreshing purple milkshake, this homemade creation is sure to hit the spot. Cheers to Grimace, the embodiment of a milkshake, and to enjoying the best part of summertime in every sip!
