Mornings are tough. They can start off in such a hustle to get everyone up, ready, fed, and out the door on time. While the chaotic morning routines are being carried out, you’re going over a mental list of errands and projects that need to be completed. Then you remember some tasks that didn’t get done yesterday. And before you even get out the door, you’re thinking about what can be put off until tomorrow. It’s an overwhelming start to the day.
When your mornings begin to feel a little overwhelming, here is a truth from God’s word that can speak some calmness into your heart. It’s from Lamentations 3:22-23.
His Mercies Are New Every Morning
22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
Every single morning of your life God grants you new mercies.
Not old mercies, new ones.
Not one tiny bit of mercy, but mercies (that’s plural!).
And His mercies are unlimited.
Make it a habit to look for His mercies throughout your day. Did you get a super close parking space? Was the carline to pick up your kids from school a little faster than usual? Were you able to remember that one thing at the grocery store that you always forget? Notice the little, positive things and know that God has extended those to you out of His love for you. Then take the time to thank Him.
Since we can always use a reminder of God’s mercy in our lives, I’ve created a printable verse to share with you. You can print it out and frame it in a standard 8×10 frame.
Displaying Bible verses around my home has become part of the normal decor. It’s a beautiful and simple way to surround your family with God’s word.
I love picture frames, and over the years I’ve accumulated a nice collection.
