The second stop on my home tour is our Blue and White Coastal Christmas Living Room. This is the largest room in our house and the one we spend the most time in. Come on in!
Welcome to our Blue and White Coastal Christmas living room!
From the entryway walking into the living room, there are large windows on the opposite wall. They are decorated with simple boxwood wreaths I got from Decor Steals. You’ll also notice two cream colored Christmas pillows with black script. One states, “They Followed the Star,” and the other says “Jesus is the Reason for the Season.” I got those from Hobby Lobby. Not only do they brighten up our dark furniture pieces, but they’re also a gentle reminder of the true reason we celebrate Christmas.
When I found this “Joy” sign online at Kirkland’s I could not resist! It’s a perfect addition to our Coastal Christmas living room decor.
Nativity
Continuing around the room to the left this antique stereo cabinet sits behind the sofa.
It’s a nice, prominent place to display our nativity set. This set was a gift from my husband’s parents the first Christmas after we were married. My husband built the stable that year as well. It is now over 27 years old and has survived 5 children, 4 dogs, and a cat in the house.
Here’s a view of the room from behind the sofa.
Stairs
Continuing our counter-clockwise tour, the next part of the house to be adorned for the holiday is the staircase. Lighted garland is swagged along the railing. Be sure to check back next year because I have plans for that blank staircase wall!
The garland is wrapped with glittery, iridescent ribbon and spiny starfish are suspended by twine.
Fireplace
Here’s a view of the whole room from the top of the stairs.
As you come down the stairs you can see the focal point of the room.
The fireplace garland is decorated with the same ribbon as the stairs but I’ve used silver and aqua ball ornaments instead of starfish. I got the neutral stockings from Pottery Barn a few years ago. Half of them are here, and there are four more hanging from the mantle in the Keeping Room.
My husband’s large center-channel speaker takes up a lot of the mantle space (it was a compromise…smaller than the one he really wanted and bigger than I wanted), so I’ve only placed a couple of decorations on this mantle. These bottle brush coastal trees from Michael’s are a perfect addition to our Coastal Christmas living room.
And this framed Merry Christmas print fits nicely with a tiny nativity figurine tucked in beside it. You can print this one and more Christmas prints in blue HERE.
There are built in shelves to the left of the fireplace.
I’ve replaced a few of the usual decor pieces with a nod to the season. These letter blocks change throughout the year. It’s kind of fun thinking of new words to display.
One of my favorite Christmas Bible verses is displayed in a rustic frame. It’s available to print HERE.
Coastal Christmas Tree
And finally the Christmas tree!
Here it is in the daytime.
And here it is in the evening glow.
These glittery seahorses give just a hint to the Coastal Christmas theme.
Thanks for stopping by!
