Jalapeno Ranch Dip (Chuy’s Copycat)
This creamy Jalapeño Ranch Dip tastes just like Chuy’s famous version. Made with Greek yogurt, cilantro, jalapeños, and ranch mix, it’s quick, zesty, and perfect for dipping or drizzling.
Jalapeño Ranch Dip (Chuy’s Copycat)
There was a time when we had a Chuy’s restaurant just a few minutes from our house, and we were regulars. My whole crew loves Mexican food, and their creamy Jalapeño Ranch Dip was one of the things we always looked forward to. When that location closed, we were crushed—and honestly, it wasn’t just about the enchiladas. It was about that dip.
After a few kitchen experiments (and plenty of taste tests from my kids), I finally cracked the code. This version tastes exactly like the one we used to get at Chuy’s, and years later, it’s still a favorite whenever the kids come home to visit.

Why You’ll Love This Jalapeño Ranch Dip
Ingredients You’ll Need
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (2% or 5%)
- ½ cup olive oil mayonnaise (sour cream works too)
- 1 bunch fresh cilantro
- 2 packets dry ranch dressing mix
- 3 fresh jalapenos
- Drizzle of lime juice (1–3 tablespoons, to taste)
How to Make Jalapeño Ranch Dip
- Place the Greek yogurt into a food processor and sprinkle the ranch dressing mix over it.
- Tear the leaves off the cilantro bunch and add them to the processor.
- Cut the ends off the jalapeños, slice them into quarters, and remove seeds/membranes if you want a milder dip. Add them to the processor.
- Put the lid on and blend on high until everything is smooth and combined.
- With the processor running, drizzle in 1–3 tablespoons of lime juice (to taste).
- Add the mayo (or sour cream) and blend again until smooth.
Serving Ideas
This dip isn’t just for tortilla chips (although it’s amazing with them).
Drizzle on tacos, burritos, or taco bowls (try my Taco Bowls)
Use as a dressing for a taco salad
Serve as a dipping sauce for chicken tenders, quesadillas, or nachos (check out my Sheet Pan Enchiladas)
Add to a party veggie tray or charcuterie board for a zesty twist (Mini sweet bell peppers are my favorite dipper!)
Storage Tips
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
- Stir before serving to refresh the texture.
- This dip doesn’t freeze well due to its dairy content, so make only what you’ll use this week
Variations to Try
- Avocado Jalapeño Ranch: Add one ripe avocado for extra creaminess and a milder heat.
- Roasted Jalapeño Ranch: Roast the jalapeños under the broiler for 6–8 minutes for a smoky twist.
- Tomatillo Jalapeño Ranch: Blend in 1–2 roasted tomatillos for a tangy, restaurant-style version.

Tips & Tricks
- You can use 2%, 5% or full-fat plain Greek yogurt.
- Add the jalapeños one at a time, tasting after each addition. The level of heat can vary significantly from pepper to pepper. Sometimes I only need one jalapeño, and other times I’ll need 3 to achieve the desired heat level.
- The mayonnaise is optional, but it will make the dip have a thinner consistency than if you only use the Greek yogurt. For an even thinner consistency, use some buttermilk.
- You can substitute sour cream for Greek yogurt if desired.

Jalapeno Ranch Dip
Equipment
- Mini food processor or full size food processor
Ingredients
- 1 cup Plain Greek yogurt (2% or 5%)
- ½ cup Olive oil mayonnaise (sour cream can be used as a substitute)
- 1 bunch Fresh cilantro
- 2 packets Dry Ranch Dressing Mix
- 3 Jalapeno peppers
- drizzle Lime juice
Instructions
- Place Greek yogurt into a food processor and put the ranch dressing mix on top of it.
- Rip the tops (leaves) off the cilantro bunch and place into the food processor.
- Cut the ends off the jalapeno peppers then slice into quarters. For spicier dip leave the seeds and membranes in the peppers. For less spicy dip remove the seeds and membranes. Place into food processor. Use the peppers to push the cilantro leaves down as you put them in.
- Place lid on the food processor and run on high until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Drizzle 1-3 tablespoons of lime juice (to taste) into the processor as it’s running.
- Open food processor and add mayo or sour cream (whichever you prefer). Fill it all the way to the top. This thins out the consistency of the dip. If you prefer a thicker dip, you can add more Greek yogurt instead.
