Where can you buy the sprinkles?
Rainbow Candy Coated Chips
Your grocery store may carry these sprinkles. Check the baking aisle for the iconic rainbow chip sprinkles. If not, you can buy them in bulk from Amazon.
I like to buy these in bulk to use as an ice cream topping or sprinkles on other cookies. They also make great decorations as “Christmas lights” on any Christmas dessert!

How to Make Cosmic Brownies Christmas Trees
Make the Brownies
Preheat your oven to the recommended baking temperature on the brownie mix. (My favorite brand is Ghirardelli!)
Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Be sure to leave the sides long enough to easily lift the brownies out of the pan when done.
Spread the brownie batter evenly in the baking pan and bake according to package directions.
When done, allow to completely cool in the pan before applying the white chocolate topping.
Make the White Chocolate Frosting
Pour the heavy cream into a medium-sized microwaveable bowl. Heat on high for 60 seconds or until hot.
Add the white chocolate chips into the heated heavy cream and stir until melted. You may need to heat an additional 30 seconds.
Add the food coloring a few drops at a time. Mix until the green color is uniform throughout the mixture. Continue to add food coloring until your desired color is reached.
Chill then Decorate
When the brownies have cooled, pour the melted chocolate topping over the brownies. Spread the frosting evenly and all the way to the edges.
Sprinkle the Rainbow Candy Coated Chips all over the top of the melted chocolate.
Refrigerate the whole pan for about an hour or until the melted chocolate becomes solid.
How To Cut the Triangles
When the chocolate topping has completely set, remove the brownies from the pan by lifting with the parchment paper.
Use a sharp knife to make 2 horizontal cuts across the brownies. Cut them into equal thirds as shown.
Cut each horizontal strip into triangles to resemble Christmas Tree shapes. There will be a little waste on each side (this if for you or your baking assistants to snack on). You should be able to get 8 trees from each strip for a total of 24 Christmas Trees. The base of each tree is approximately 1.5-inches.
Tips & Tricks
- If you don’t have the Rainbow Candy Coated Chips, you can top these Christmas Tree Brownies with multi-colored sprinkles or mini M&Ms.
- Be careful not to overbake your brownie mix if you prefer fudgy, chewy brownies.
- To ensure you get a clean cut, cook the brownies in the refrigerator until the chocolate topping is completely set. This will take at least an hour. Don’t rush it!
- Add the Rainbow Candy Coated Chips before the topping sets to make sure they stick to the brownies.
How to Store Cosmic Brownies Christmas Trees
Keep in an airtight container at room temperature up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to 7 days. However, I seriously doubt they will last that long!
I can’t wait for you to take that first bite, experiencing the fudgy nostalgia and festive charm in every mouthful. As you decorate your Cosmic Brownies Christmas Trees with twinkling lights and colorful ornaments, remember that it’s the moments shared in the kitchen and around the table with loved ones that make this season truly special.
Wishing you a merry and cosmic holiday season, filled with love, laughter, and lots of delicious treats.
