- 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast or thighs cut into 1.5-inch pieces
- 1 med onion chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 4 tbsp butter
- 29 oz can tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp curry powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp dried coriander
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp sugar or to taste
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream
- fresh parsley or cilantro chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Place chicken pieces, chopped onion, garlic, and ginger into the slow cooker. Top with sliced butter.
- In a medium bowl, combine the tomato sauce, garam masala, curry powder, chili powder, coriander, turmeric, cumin, and sugar.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
- Stir in the heavy cream until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro and serve over rice with naan bread and lime wedges.
