8oz Cool Whip
1Angel Food Cake, preparedcubed
1cupstrawberriessliced or diced
1cupblueberries
1cupraspberries
Instructions
Make the Cream Filling
Combine the pudding mix and milk according to the package directions.
Immediately add the Cool Whip and fold to combine.
Cover with plastic wrap and set in the refrigerator while you prepare the berries.
Prepare the Fruit and Cake
Rinse the blueberries and strawberries. Remove the tops of the strawberries and cut them into bite-sized pieces.
Cut the cake in half horizontally (like a hamburger bun) and then cut the cake into cubes.
Assemble the Trifle (or Mini Trifles)
Add a layer of cake pieces to the bottom of the trifle dish. Make sure the cake cubes are spread evenly up to the edges of your trifle dish.
Next, add half of the pudding mixture on top of the cake layer. Again, make sure the creamy layers extend all the way to the edges of your trifle bowl.
Set aside a few of the prettiest pieces of cut fruit for garnishing the top of the trifle. Scatter a generous layer of blueberries, fresh strawberries, and raspberries atop the cream. Next, arrange some of the fruit around the perimeter of the bowl right against the glass sides so it will be visible when the whipped cream layer is added.
add another layer of cake pieces, pudding mixture, and fresh berries. Continue until your dish is filled to the top. Finish with a final layer of the pudding mixture and arrange a few pieces of fresh fruit on top.
Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.

Variations of the Patriotic Trifle Recipe
Customize this berry trifle recipe to make it your own:
Use any combination of red or blue berries. If you don’t love raspberries, leave them out. If the blueberries at your local grocery store don’t look great, choose blackberries instead.
Make your own cream filling using heavy cream and sugar, or opt for a cream cheese mixture. Choose a different pudding flavor such as white chocolate pudding. You can even use Cool Whip without adding anything else to it.
If you’re not a fan of pre-made angel food cakes or can’t find them in your grocery store, opt for any kind of sponge cake. You can find a delicious pound cake in the freezer section of most grocery stores.
