Holiday meals are worth going all out for. They are a special time to gather with friends and family in celebration. So you want every part to be delicious and memorable. Have you considered an Easter Butter Board appetizer? 

This savory Easter Butter Board is simple to create, stunning to look at, and absolutely delicious to eat. It’s a perfect prelude to your Easter dinner. 

Easter Butter Board Ingredients

  • Butter
  • Cream Cheese
  • Bell pepper paste
  • Grain mustard
  • Pesto
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Capers
  • Black olives, pitted
  • Almonds
  • Dried cranberries
  • Dried Strawberries
  • Mint, honey, crackers

Assemble the Easter Butter Board

Allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature and soften.
Divide cream cheese into 3 equal portions and place each in a small bowl.
Add bell pepper paste into one bowl, grain mustard into the second, and pesto into the third.
Stir each bowl until flavors combine and color is even throughout the mixture.
Slice the olives and cut the dried cranberries in half.
Slice the dried strawberries into strips.
Crush the almonds with a mallet or rough cut with a knife to make large chunks.

Clean your charcuterie board well with hot soapy water and allow to dry before assembling your butter board.
Take your butter out of the refrigerator about an hour before before starting and allow it to soften.
Spread a short strip of butter along opposite sides of your charcuterie board. Use a small spreading knife or a teaspoon to create a wavy pattern.
Add a slightly longer strip of the pesto and cream cheese mixture next to the first strip.
Add a strip of butter, then add a strip of the bell pepper paste and cream cheese. Each strip should be a little longer than the one beside it.
The longest strip of butter will be in the center with the mustard and cream cheese mixture on each side of it.

Place chunks of parmesan on top of the shortest butter strips.
Put capers on top of the pesto mixture.
Put olive slices on top of the bell pepper paste mixture.
Add dried cranberries to the mustard mixture.
Arrange dried strawberry slices along the center stripe of butter.
Add some mint around the edges if desired.

Arrange crackers around the edges of the charcuterie board.
Serve with fresh bread slices, vegetable sticks, or any kind of crackers.

Tips & Tricks

  • If you can’t find bell pepper paste, substitute tomato sauce. Add a splash of your favorite hot sauce for a bit of spiciness.
  • Use different flavors to add to the cream cheese such as roasted garlic, chives, Sriracha, chili pepper, or sun dried tomatoes.
  • For a shortcut, purchase already flavored cream cheese. Add a drop of food coloring to create custom colors.
  • Use different toppings such as shredded cheese, thinly sliced red onion, green onions, lox, smoked salmon, bacon bits, dried salami, or Everything Bagel Seasoning.
