Blue and Gold Coastal Christmas Dining Room
Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year, and I am so excited to share a tour of our Christmas home with you! Five months ago we were unpacking boxes in our new home. Even then I started thinking about how it would look all decked out for Christmas.
The last space I decorated is the first I’m going to share with you.
Welcome to our Blue and Gold Coastal Christmas dining room and entry!
From the entryway looking into the dining room you can see the beautiful millwork. There is stacked crown moulding, headers above the openings and windows, and paneled wainscoting. This type of beautiful trim work is carried throughout the entire house. I tell people all the time this house would be beautiful naked. It’s one of the reasons we fell in love with this place.
By next Christmas I hope to have a different light fixture in this room. Something a little lighter and with a little more bling would be pretty. However, the dining room this year was all about working with what I already had. After completing the other downstairs rooms, I noticed I had lots of gold decor left over. The Blue and Gold Coastal Christmas Dining Room theme was the result.
The Tablescape
To lay the foundation of the centerpiece I used a simple gold table runner. It brings some softness to the table and anchors the color scheme. Gold chargers carry the gold color around the table. The white plates have an intricate decorative edge that sparkles in the light and keeps the gold from overwhelming the table.
The focal point of this tablescape is a rustic dough bowl. This one is a reproduction I purchased on Etsy. This is where I brought in a little of the coastal theme. It is filled with moss, gold and bronze ornaments, gold jingle bell balls, some seashells and starfish.
I love how these reindeer candlestick holders look next to the rustic dough bowl centerpiece. Aren’t they so cute!
The wine glasses bring just the right amount of blue and sparkle to the table.
Gold Christmas Tree
And over in the corner is a tall, slender Christmas tree. I used a gold velvet tree skirt and topped it with an angel we’ve had for over 20 years.
The decor on this tree is pretty simple using gold bead garland, gold ball ornaments, and just a few matte blue balls scattered around.
To go along with the angel topper, I scattered a few angel ornaments on the tree as well. The lights from the Christmas tree accentuate the gold theme in this room. Overall it is such a warm, welcoming room.
Entryway
I’m going to sneak in a few pics from the entryway since it’s right next to the dining room. This small blue dresser from Kirkland’s sits here year round, and I alter the decor for the season. The framed Bible verse is available to print HERE. I picked up the lighted tree on a recent trip to Hobby Lobby. The small stack of tins next to the dresser are gifts for guests.
I got this whitewashed chalkboard easel at Kirkland’s a couple of years ago. It also sits in the entry year round. My daughter enjoys helping me change the message and drawings on it throughout the year.
And here’s a sneak peek from the entryway into our living room.
